Once more remembering the time many years ago an American mom emailed me to ask how her child could dress as me for Halloween. I’m still sad I can’t find the emails any more (she sent a photo of the result!) It is extra funny to me because here in the uk we only really do costumes of spooky things.

Feeling deeply weird about the Affinity announcement. Free, all in one app instead of three and they don’t train on your stuff, all good. Bringing in Canva’s Gen AI stuff ehhhhhhhh. Apparently you can hide the button and the AI is paywalled but it leaves a bad taste.

There are 2 violinist students next door, they are pretty diligent in their practice, our walls are not thick and I work from home. Sometimes they are both practicing at once. I feel like the protagonist of a scribbly greyscale indie horror where some monster is hunting me through a boarding school.

The legislation would prohibit taxpayer dollars for any type of gender-affirming care for transgender people. This would include programs like Medicaid
This is at the same time the government is pretty much turning a blind eye to racists painting on walls up and down the country. Art books will talk about how grotesque this is hundreds of years from now.

The load-bearing myth at the heart of UK politics is that the politicians and media are tolerant and decent and working people are knuckle-dragging bigots, but it's actually completely the other way around.

This. I LOVE you for it if you name your budget and deadline right away and I am 1000% more inclined to collaborate with you and figure out a way to make it work within these metrics.

Here is the project, this is what I can pay, this is the deadline. We get so many time wasters it’s remarkably refreshing when a potential client is upfront
