I like books and outdoors things and my family and the absurdity of the banal. Data mangler by trade.
Political cartoonists are better than mainstream media
Today. Impeach today. Yesterday would have been better. But today will do.
All the naysayers that are like "hurhur we don't have a king shut up shut up" willfully miss the point, to own the libs.
The Declaration of Independence specifies 27 grievances with King George III and Britain. Donald Trump and his regime have committed at least 20 of those same offenses highlighted in yellow. #NoKings
Even amidst all this shit, I would idly note that the only members of Trump's cabinet that have received real grief yet are two women, bondi and noem... (Very well deserved grief to be crystal clear).
They would, in fact, probably love to tell you!
When someone says „Scientists do not want you to know“ you can dismiss everything from there on. Scientists want you to know. They are desperate that you know. They can’t shut up about what they found out and want you to know.
Even in a sea of idiocy this stands out. (I listened; it's pretty clear he is referencing Khomeini and khamenei as the same person)
Mullin: We are not wanting regime change, but the person that's leading this effort is the ayatollah. Remember in 1979, when he came to power, he was saying that he wanted to be a nuclear Iran
ok a tweet actually made me laugh thank you and good day
The $38.3 billion they are going to spend for interment camps could fund the annual budget of NASA, the EPA, and all clean energy R&D at the Department of Energy—combined.
Breaking news: ICE expects to spend $38.3 billion on its plan to acquire warehouses across the U.S. and retrofit them into immigrant detention centers that can hold tens of thousands of people, according to agency documents.
I genuinely cannot believe the degree to which we are pissing away this generational breakthrough, even given the fuckmuppets who are involved www.nbcnews.com/health/healt...

This one....I just. ok, sorry, and thank you. (the thread contained source links, validated here : www.justice.gov/epstein/file... )
Starting to think these weren’t really applied with the consideration required by law
RFK, jr. is the worst person you ever met at a party in california, patel is the worst guy you ever encountered at the gym, bondi is the worst person you ever met at church, bessent is the worst person you have ever met at a conference, all these people are the worst versions of every stereotype
they made the entire administration out of the worst person you have ever known in every situation, vance is the worst person you ever met in college
I was trying to see what even fox news would say about trump polling (yes, yes), and I came across this absolute gem:
Protected speech made my agents murder these people, says federal official
Homan: "I begged for the last two months on TV for the rhetoric to stop. I said in March -- if the rhetoric doesn't stop, there is gonna be bloodshed. And there has been. I wish I wasn't right. I don't want to see anybody die."
I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good. Stay free

Alex Pretti's gun is like Renee Good's car: irrelevant to the central fact that they were murdered by ICE. ICE wants us to debate whether Pretti should have been carrying because that avoids the central fact. Pro-carry, anti-carry--that has as much to do w/ his murder as his fashion choices. Zero.
This is such a thing Completely incapable of admitting any error, ever, even if it would get them closer to their goals.
the smartest thing to do right now would be to make a show of disciplining some ICE agents and quietly pull back from minneapolis. the president offers his condolences and maybe even makes a direct donation to the family. you fire bovino and replace him with someone more quietly depraved, etc.
You cannot "retrain" this. You can only dispose of the failure and start anew.

If anyone was still pretending this isn’t just about excluding trans kids from public life, the Trump administration just opened a Title IX investigation into a Maine school district because a trans student is on a *co-ed* cheerleading squad.

New: I spoke with a Colombian asylum seeker who was the victim of a ‘Kavanaugh stop’ about what it was like to be racially profiled, abducted in front his family and held in ICE detention hours from home for more than a month—despite doing everything “the right way.” This is Nick’s story.

The whole thing we built after WWII was moving to a world where this wasn't the case. I can't excoriate Miller more.
"Iron laws of the world"? Some of America's most important national accomplishments are about leading humanity away from this kind of bullshit. If we let ideologues like Stephen Miller drag us back into a world where brute force is all that matters, all of us will be less safe.

It is straight out terrifying to worry about which actions my own country will take next.
