I've never seen such an effort to censor a document as I have the Amnesty International report on gender critical groups because of JK Rowling. They removed the report from the Wayback Machine and now I got a DMCA strike on my Google Drive for having it. It was deleted and removed from my account.

A screenshot of an email viewed in dark mode with the subject line "Google DMCA Violation." The email from Google informs the recipient that they have received a notification under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) that some of their materials allegedly infringe on copyrights. It explains the removal process, mentions that notice details will be posted on Lumen, warns against repeated violations, and lists one affected Google Drive URL at the bottomA nearly identical mobile browser screenshot of the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. It shows a search for the same Amnesty International UK resources URL, resulting in the same message: "This URL has been excluded from the Wayback Machine."A mobile browser screenshot of the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. A URL for an Amnesty International UK resources page is entered in the search bar, but the page displays the message: "This URL has been excluded from the Wayback Machine."

Once you have a lot of money it becomes easier to get more money by doing nothing, which disincentivizes work. This is why all our billionaires post insane bullshit all day. If they had to work they'd be too busy to act like this, doubly benefiting society

Cheryl Reeve, winningest coach in WNBA history, defends transgender athletes against sports bans. “Exclusion is never the answer. Separate isn’t equal. Trans lives matter.” 💗🏳️‍⚧️💗🏀💗

For many years, people didn’t randomly film others in public—not because we didn’t have the technology, but because the social contract said you didn’t do that. That’s why Meta is going full court press on their PR and celebrity endorsements. They remember how people ran google glass outta town.

222,000 signatures is impressive. It's still lower than the original threshold set by the Kenney government. Not to mention time frame and regional requirements. Key takeaway: without Danielle Smith's rule changes, the separatist petition would have failed.

Uncontrolled AI is a threat to our jobs, our environment, and our communities. Canadians across the political divide know this, and that’s why they’re fighting back. The public must assert its role in the technologies shaping our lives, and draw hard lines where AI causes nothing but harm.

“These are books that have already fully discharged their financial obligation to their creators. […] It is the completion of a book’s lifecycle: from tree to knowledge to tree again.” The banality of evil on display is staggering.

companies are sourcing millions of printed books for AI labs that scan them for training data, then destroy them. printed books are more valuable because they're free of AI slop, and AI labs know destroying them is an "optics problem." www.404media.co/ai-companies...

This idiot has probably never been to the BOREAL FOREST a day in his life. It is 5.5 times the size of Texas. You cannot "groom" it. It's burning because of climate change. The utter bullshit from these climate deniers. Canadians are sick of this bullying and they are not going to take it.

Rep. Jeff Van Drew: "Canada isn't working because they are so far left. This should be a warning shot to them. You better come to America, say, 'We're sorry, we're gonna mend our ways and do what we used to do and groom and maintain the forest.'"

Idaho pushed anti-trans laws for years. Then a teen died.

The life and death of May Pollard, 16, provides a window into the tragic effect that legislation and political rhetoric have had on trans people in America.

Weird that we name bridges, highways, parks, buildings, ships, ports and more after people, but not oil pipelines. Do people not want pipelines named after themselves? I think we should try it out on this one. Call it the Mark Carney Decarbonized Oil Expressway.

Matthew Yglesias believes in nothing. He's a soulless husk of a human being who puts his finger in the air to determine what position he'll take on any given issue. It's precisely that kind of valueless political posturing that voters often reject.

Incredibly brazen for the Prime Minister to boast about the “lasting benefits” of expanding fossil fuel production on a day like today. Record-breaking heatwaves. Toxic smoke engulfing cities and towns. Out of control wildfires forcing entire communities to evacuate. /1

The world wants to do more with Canada. Our MOU with Alberta will unlock those opportunities in energy — and create lasting benefits for Canadians.
