I compose subtle, texture-driven scores for documentary and narrative film.

Thank you @brettkrutzsch.bsky.social, for having me on. I really enjoyed our conversation about the women of January 6, conspiracy beliefs, and what years of ethnographic fieldwork can reveal about belonging, identity, and extremism.

NEW podcast episode: "The January 6 Women Insurrectionists & Their Conspiracy Beliefs" @noellecook.com, author of The Conspiracists (@broadleafbooks.bsky.social), discusses the women who stormed the Capitol, their beliefs, & how conspiracies act like religion. Listen on Apple Podcasts & Spotify.

Farage in The Telegraph: ‘If voters think I’m a crook, they can get rid of me.’ It’s not how the law works but, even so, I’m assuming if Farage is serious he’ll allow the voters of Clacton to look at all his finances, speak to all his donors, and put himself up for rigorous questioning?

Front page headline in Telegraph : Farage quoted as saying ‘If voters think I’m a crook they can get rid of me.

The Conspiracists has been out for six months, and I keep coming back to the question at the center of it: what do conspiracy communities give people beyond the beliefs themselves? Certainty, purpose, identity, and belonging. January 6 was one outcome of that world, but it was never the whole story🧵

Bright blue book cover for The Conspiracists: Women, Extremism, and the Lure of Belonging by Noelle Cook. Centered on the cover is a large stylized blonde woman’s face with dark, hollow-looking eyes and a Statue of Liberty-style crown.

I just wish 1 journalist when Cunningham or Jenrick are wheeled on to waffle about threats to Farage's security would say, what do you think it feels like to be a traumatised asylum seeker, or a carer trying to get to work when Farage's well funded hatred has turned a violent mob against them ?

There's much chatter about the established media now starting to 'turn' on Nigel Farage and Reform UK, following a number of by-election defeats and questionable gifts/donations. Farage has *always* been in need of scrutiny. That the press now decide to turn the lens on him is part of the story.

Chris Mason: Accusations around Farage leave him looking vulnerable to his rivals

The Reform UK leader is in the news and at the heart of the headlines are questions about power, transparency and money.
