Last night was a lot of fun! 🫶 Got to be creative with some friends and a few hundred other folks at Brick House Resellers Brickblast! Our table won “Best Community Build” for which included my ‘mini community free library’ build. It was also fun to meet season 5 LEGO Masters the Grayson brothers. 🧱

"A concentration camp, in its most basic definition, is a place where a targeted civilian population, not necessarily accused of a crime, is detained and at least some of their basic rights are suspended," writes @jwashing.bsky.social. "That’s precisely what’s happening in the United States today."

Don’t call them ICE detention centers. Call them camps | John Washington

I’ve spent a decade reporting on immigration enforcement. The word ‘camp’ best captures the political function of these facilities

That’s all folks… 🏆⚽️ Yesterday was the “Thank You” event for the ~5000 NY/NJ World Cup Volunteers! ❤️💙💚 Other than they tried to make us watch baseball and I got a little too much sun… it was a really fun day! So glad I got to spend time with lots of friends on the Host City Ambassador team again! 🫶

Mitch McConnell hasn’t been seen or heard from in 6 weeks(!) in the hospital. Yet he still has a job, still getting paid, and getting unlimited world class healthcare. The man who voted against a living wage, against universal healthcare, and against guaranteed paid leave—is now getting all three.

Today is the Feast of John Cassian which is also the anniversary of my ordination to the priesthood. I continue to consider what a blessing it is to live out this vocation among and with all of you, who are yourselves beautiful reflections of our Creator’s love.

“Mary Magdalene—a wise woman & one who refused to run from death, hurt, & humiliation. Today we celebrate the life of the Apostle to the Apostles, this beautiful and strong friend of Jesus, who ran toward Peter & Jesus’ brothers, and toward all of us, with the most wonderful news we’ve ever heard.”🥚

Today the church remembers Saint Mary Magdalene, the first person to proclaim the Good News: Jesus Christ is Risen!

Pictured is an Icon by Robert Lentz of a n olive skinned Mary, with red clothing and holding an egg in her left hand, and pointing to it with her right hand. There is a golden halo behind her, on a black background.“Without women preachers, we would have no knowledge of the resurrection.” – Jürgen Moltmann

The president continues to believe he lost 2020 because of rampant corruption/fraud which occurred during the only presidential election his administration presided over; the proof is that he won 2 elections presided over by democratic administrations because there was not rampant corruption/fraud??

Mamdani got into office and instantly: • Froze rent for 2 million New Yorkers • Cut subway fares in half for low-income riders • Fully funded NYC parks • Added $680M for public schools • Launched free child care for 2-year-olds If establishment politicians actually wanted to help you, they could.

It’s all a mess. 😕 There will always be an asterisk. *️⃣ I wish it had been handled differently. ⚽️ I still love soccer, what the #WorldCup can mean for fans/community, and I’m still 100% cheering on our #USA boys on the pitch tonight! ❤️‍🩹🤍💙 Asher continually avoids the camera for pictures. 📷🤣

PASTOR LORAN LIVINGSTON (@CentralChurchNC): “There has never been a Christian nation, and never will be. You don’t live in one now. A Christian nation wouldn’t have killed and displaced 20 million Native Americans, or thought owning slaves was pleasing to God.”

Happy Independence Day… just wanted to make sure everyone gets to see my seasonally appropriate World Cup attire for the day. ❤️🤍💙 “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses and we will make a great team. Happy 250th Birthday, America!”🗽🇺🇸⚽️

A $3 @mta.info subway fare and some good Q train timing can buy you one hell of a view of the July 4th fireworks and the Brooklyn Bridge light show! Huge shoutout to the train operator for slow rolling over the Manhattan Bridge and the conductor for announcing it.

Ten years ago today, J. D. Vance called Trump “cultural heroin” in The Atlantic: “To every complex problem, he promises a simple solution … He never offers details for how these plans will work, because he can’t," Vance wrote of Trump. Read the piece: theatln.tc/foJ8lGw3
