The pinnacle of human achievement isn't science or technology. It's empathy. The safer modern world *enables* us to be more empathetic. Some hateful people want to take safety away and reduce us to heartless, desperate creatures. Don't let them. Support others, and embrace what makes us all human.

Apparently my grandfather's vintage (now "antique"?) Lionel train set dating to post-WWII (probably from 1948-1951) still exists and probably still works (it did as recently as 2016). Autism restoration project commencing.

This is a serious problem in cis gay male spaces and it deserves to be called out. My generation (GenX) is particularly guilty of this. We have to make a point to be welcoming without infantilizing. More in the 🧵.

I feel the need to say something. I feel rejected from cis gay spaces a lot of the time. Or perceived as less than. I’m a top without a “real” dick. In queer spaces, my gender isn’t “fucked” enough. I’m too close to *real* men. I used to use He/They. To fit in. I dropped it. 2/

We need to fix how we talk about men. It’s not like the police where you can just say ACAB. The men aren’t the problem. The systems are. It’s possible to give men the space to be vulnerable, to work together to dismantle the systems of patriarchy in a way that’s fucking healthy. 3/

🧵 context: Someone showed that they could call Recon APIs to find out someone's precise location. This isn't news! Anybody can do that through triangulation, with ANY hookup app that gives precise enough distance measurements. BE CAREFUL when allowing hookup apps to use your GPS location.

If you allow a hookup app to show your distance to other people, you can be located to a pretty high degree of accuracy. I demonstrated that I could tell somebody which ROOM OF A HOUSE that they were in. The API calls might make it easier, but the distance PRECISION is the underlying problem.

One of the most heartwarming parts of being seen as a #queer elder is when someone asks for advice when they're discovering new parts of their identity. There's often fear of rejection mixed in with uncertainty fears. Never underestimate the power of "Yes, you're normal. I've been there too."

It really says something when even retail stores aren't buying into the "America 250" thing. Must be an embarrassment for them. The supposedly patriotic merch sections of stores seem to be pathetically small this year, and I'm here for it. I'm seeing bigger Pride merch displays in some stores.
