♍ Rice 🌺(pressure cooker status)@riicepatty.bsky.social · 5d agoHey lovelies, I'll probably do a master list of as many shuake writers as possible and their statements regarding their work on unauthorised g/drives or if they can get their work directly from the author or not. I'm sure it won't won't move the needle on the unauthorised g/docs or fandom attitude
With Ao3 down and fics being shared via gdrives, the one thing I'm going to say is that whenever the archive is back up, y'all BETTER be hunting down the fics and leaving kudos AND comments for the author Remember to thank the actual people who write these things, not just the ones who compiled it
the ao3 situation really should be a lesson to everyone that fic writers are the backbone of every fandom, so please give them all your love once the archive is back up

Ellipsus could do the funniest thing this November 🤣
Lili Saintcrow@lilithsaintcrow.com · 2w agoSo, wait, has NaNoWriMo rebranded as "Novel November", paid for by ProWritingAid, which used to be a spell/grammar checker but now is (you guessed it) an "'AI' grammar checker"--in short, yet another way for a griftslop machine to grab human-written text? Do I have that right?
Ironically, sex scenes are rarely ever about the sex; typically they are used to show power dynamics, vulnerability, weaknesses, etc. My 3 truths about literature, coming from someone with her Masters in English lit: Everything is a dick Everything is about sex, except actual sex Everyone is gay
