I have finished my very last of the three sets of copy edits, and am far too frazzled to go straight back into writing. Instead I have dealt with the serial killer heap of scrawled post its and am addressing the wasteland that is my inbox. I might even blog. Get me, rejoining society like a normal.

I was looking at a new book by an author I've tried and enjoyed, and came across myself in the list of praise. Which is absolutely fine: if I have reviewed you, quote me with abandon! THAT SAID, if you could choose a quote that DOESN'T make me look like an entire idiot, that'd be great.

A variety of quotes along the lines of "Witty, spicy, seductive' and 'Heart thumping romance' and then me going "The bonking was hot".

It is my hope that when I die, the world doesn't say a loud "good riddance bitch." I am trying to avoid that fate by *not* being a spectacularly awful person. However, if I do become awful, have at it. aka: Consequences.

Sad to see people posting on social media negatively about Rod Liddle, who died yesterday. If I have disagreed with you very strongly in life - and you die - I hope I'll be either silent, or kind.

While I'm talking about books, Tia Williams' The Missed Connection is 99p on Kobo atm and I am really enjoying it so get in. (I do not know if it's on sale at other retailers or other regions or other formats, please do not ask me.)

Whenever I hear people saying that figures who were vile in public, and actively made life worse for other people through their actions or words, were kind in private, I think that they should have applied themselves to greater consistency across all areas of their lives.

Explained to my daughter that I'm fairly relaxed about people increasingly relying on AI for every decision because eventually all those people will just walk into the sea and drown and we can have all their stuff, but she didn't seem 100% convinced.

Watched Face/Off with the kids. Verdict: I can't believe you complain about GenAI when human brains come up with this organic slop. Which...is not without fairness

Did my presentation thing on self editing at the RNA Conferences. Was a bit worried that it went into the weeds of punctuation specifics. Then we had the questions and that was literally all everyone wanted to ask about.

We're off to see the MC Escher exhibition which contains an unprecedented collection of his works. Mr KJC is very disappointed they didn't call it Brimful Of Escher.
