Thinking on it, Twitch has basically spent the last 8+ years making the site actively worse, but even just 2 years ago we at least still had fucking VoD storage and general control over our content. Truly we're speedrunning the dying gasp of this shithole.

Really debating if I want to come back to streaming at all at this point. So sick and tired of this manipulative and skeevy shit Twitch continues to push on people.

Twitch is exploring the launch of a Boss Battle feature. Randomly, a Boss will show up in chat, and viewers need to fight it with Subs, Gifted Subs, and Bits for it to go away. If you beat it, you may get a temporary emote and/or a chat badge.

PROBABLY fake in a literal sense, but also EMOTIONALLY fake. Artists made more money on cohost. Some special interests are still on forums. Some people survive off fucking MAILING LISTS somehow. Reach is only useful if it reaches something you want. Views only matter if they're meaningful.

Given how much of what is streamed on Twitch is other companies' content and intellectual property... How much of a potential legal clusterfuck is this?

Twitch isn't sure whether Amazon has used Twitch creator VODs prior to today to train its AI models. The opt-out will apply to your previous and future content, so it will not be used to train future models.
