Answered a bunch of Qs by email from a student journalist about current foreign student policy. She asked if the attack on foreign students was temporary. I said the attacks are temporary, but the damage done is long term & profound to the reputation of US higher ed + its research capacities.

The US is now experiencing why Europe felt the need for such strong privacy laws. Even thought the feds don't act, we can get our states to pass privacy laws that at least protect us from businesses. Tracker of which states have passed & proposed legislation. assets.contentstack.io/v3/assets/bl...
