I put 'thank you' notes in the comments section when I order food or groceries for delivery, and the number of times I've had handwritten notes of thanks in response would surprise you. A Chinese place wrote back with my meal, included a silly joke, and gave me a bunch of their branded pens.

I finished reading "One Golden Ring" by Cheryl Bolen. Regency romance. The writing skill is very good. But I'm conflicted in that there are some components in the writer's style that don't click with me, but I'm still intrigued about some of the side characters, to see if their stories were written.

I'm reading a regency romance, written fairly recently. The author's got great use of pace and description to keep the story going, the writing isn't dense. However, I am wondering if a man is the author and is writing the characters how he THINKS women want them written?
