I went to get a pedicure on my way home from work, and, at the nail salon, an intoxicated/gregarious middle-aged man offered me a High Noon and then ended up paying for my pedicure. People are so weird and also good?

My toxic trait is that I really like a hospital. I like that it’s like a little city, and everyone has their jobs. I like when I’m there as a priest or chaplain, there’s an automatic understanding of my role.

Daily Office

There’s a rider in the women’s pro peloton with the last name “Paternoster,” and every time the announcers say it, my brain immediately goes “Lord’s Prayer.”

I have, with my own eyes, watched my tax dollars in the form of missiles as they hit buildings inhabited by civilians. I'd much prefer subsidizing a grocery story I don't use.

Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.

We're going up to our Nevada house next week, and one great thing we instituted is a "Do Not Buy" list because inevitably, we hit the store on the way there and think, "Of course we need pasta/rice/peanut butter." Oddly, on the list is also antifreeze. 🤣

Making shifts in my homiletic process from thinking I need to explain miracles to people to preaching more on what this tells us about God is just so much more interesting.

Checking my work email on Monday means clicking through a half-dozen reflections on yesterday's Mass readings from various Catholic email subscriptions and I just do not understand the iron-tight hold "the REAL miracle was everyone sharing the food they'd brought" has on people.

Integrity is a core value for me - that I (& the people I hold most dear) are the same in every situation and that I strive to live out my values in public & in private.

Whenever I hear people saying that figures who were vile in public, and actively made life worse for other people through their actions or words, were kind in private, I think that they should have applied themselves to greater consistency across all areas of their lives.

This makes me so mad because WNBA games are some of the most fun, inclusive sports around, and these absolute zeroes are ruining it.

It's pretty infuriating that Trump is denying disaster aid to Oregon for political reasons and I have barely heard anything about it, while Biden was falsely accused of doing the exact same thing to North Carolina and millions of people believed that

An 87-year-old driver killed one person and injured 3 others when he ran a red light on Broadway in Nashville. People are saying he had a medical issue, but there is so much wrong with this whole incident.

There are so many people who would rather feed homeless addicts or people with serious mental health issues into a woodchipper rather than see them existing on the streets.
