gutter world's structure of 'greater' and 'lesser' contracts is falling apart in bruiseland. i don't think the nomenclature i established in that game maps well to what i'm making now. every 'lesser' contract i start on has become larger and more conceptual.

this week i began a 'contraband' style map instead, and it's been the easiest thing in the world. i miss when this was all i needed to do.

i am temporarily trying out destructible doors and hatches. and cardboard boxes that drop random items when you shoot them. game mechanics not involving fennel's legs

realizing i could make a new level every two weeks if they were all underground industrial areas made of concrete slabs, bricks, and metal scaffold. unfortunately, bruiseland calls for very little of that kind of work. i am forced to make something vast and interesting at all times & i am exhausted

if i ever make a game that is about guns, attachments will be cosmetic & you will be able to unlock new reload animations. you should be able to unlock and equip lots of things and there should be no Best Option by way of stats. optimization strangles beauty.
