The form of the kadwot is short in stature with large ears and eyes. Their skin sometimes becomes swirls of energy when they become agitated or experience extreme emotions. The form is designed by the kadwotgot people for traveling and excelling in underground spaces.
Why not throw your D&D party in a new setting? With very unusual and different places to explore, the nations of Koboa are a wonderful way to break from the usual "medieval fantasy" tropes! Also, layouting the gazetteers was one of my favorite parts of the book. 🥰
Koboa - The South American Fantasy TTRPG Setting@koboa.bsky.social · 3mo agoHundreds of nations across the Talá Rain- forest formed a political and economic alliance known as the Mallgot Accords. Each nation within the Accords has the autonomy to govern itself, worship its gods, and live according to the customs of its ancestors.
The form of the bakemoh is humanoid with animal features. The form grants its manifesters features of their chosen animal, such as ears and tails. It originates from a different continent, having reached Koboa being brought by immigrants from that distant continent.
After introducing the five territories, the text goes on to talk about player options, starting with Forms. Koboa uses forms instead of races/lineage/species. All people can change or combine forms in big life moments. Forms are the creations of different cultures and change over time.

Atsatray, by @fullmetalconti.bsky.social Conti, a prolific 🇧🇷 RPG author (I loved being able to pick up a few of his books when I visited), ran with the concept of a territory inspired by Afrobrazilian culture and brought it to vibrant life. I love the direction he took it in.

It has portals scattered throughout all of Koboa, from the volcanic lands of Kekiad all the way to the mountains of Novpo. It was founded by comrades of the Koboans from a different continent, who helped them fight off the colonizers in their lands.
Koboa's existence inspired me to create my own setting inspired by the Caribbean that I'm currently running a game in. I can't wait to start incorporating things from this book to make it even better.

I’ve been running a Koboa campaign with my friends irl since day 0, it’s been so much fun and I love the feeling of sharing the cultural touchstones with this vast fantasy world!

Life's been busy and so I haven't been promoting Koboa as much as I should... But you should def check this out. 50+ latine contributors, all of them creative geniuses (every last one) got together to make a fantasy setting unlike you've ever seen before. The DND PDF is available RIGHT NOW

Koboa fun fact for tonight: The way of the spirit sphere monk subclass is our way of adding the love of futbol to the game. The pose of the character is an homage to our love for anime, los supercampeones specifically. I remember catching it each week at my grandpa's house.

Got my digital copy, had a skim and it looks great! Outstanding art and layout! I'll have a deeper dive in at some point, but definitely looking forward to reading up on forms, which is an alternative to 'race' or 'species'.

His authorial projects (especially RPGs) focus on serving as inclusion and empowerment tools for marginalized and invisible people, giving them the opportunity to create their own narratives by building their own projects.
Time for a Koboa design story! When I decided to start the project, I felt it was important to split the world into different areas that could carry with them different themes and potential stories.
