Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.

air travel is one of those experiences that has gotten monotonically worse over my entire lifetime

question though: has *anything* in the last 40+ years genuinely gotten *better*?

like, there's *more* stuff, sure, but is any of it *better*?

Miller is a piece of shit. But be cautious about calling family photos of nude toddlers "CSAM." I've written about lives ruined over allegations that turned out to be harmless photos of kids taking a bath or running naked through the house. Moreno is already calling for prosecutions, here.

Max Miller’s lawyer admits to accidentally releasing ‘private images’ of daughter

Lawyers for ex-wife Emily Moreno said possible “Child Sexual Abuse Material” was included in a trove of documents the Ohio lawmaker publicly posted.

Currently judging the babysitters on Broadway Babysitters by their professed favorite musical and loving it (also: a good amount mention Harry Potter and that's a hard no! fuck I gotta get my tattoo covered UP!!!)

The WNBA has never had a trans woman play in the league’s 30-year history and now the right and other anti-trans activists are hammering the league over something that has never been an issue, proving once again it isn’t about protection but exhibiting cruelty toward trans people.

I think my most genuinely unpopular take is that a widely held and genuine consumer preference for cheaper, lower-quality goods, not private equity, is driving the decline in quality of consumer goods like clothing and housewares.

A person enjoying a park isn't really impeding other people from enjoying a park. And all of us benefit from children having access to education, whether we have kids or not. A person storing a car on the street is, in fact, impeding that space from being used by other people and for other things.

Some people don’t use the parks but also pay taxes to maintain them. Some people don’t have children in public schools but pay taxes to fund them. That’s how it works.

Editing the next What If World where a character is in a magical city with an air tram and it's very hard to ignore when looking for "city ambience" sounds that "city ambience" basically means the sounds of cars. I just don't think What If World has a problem with car dependency. What to do?

Now this is the kind of trash talk we can get behind. We’re containerizing neighborhoods by taking trash off our sidewalks and allowing mid-size buildings to trade in their wheelie bins for a bigger, better, cleaner alternative: Empire Bins. It’s time to put a lid on it, New York.

BREAKING: New York just sued Kalshi — alleging it’s an illegal gambling operation. New York AG Letitia James alleges Kalshi failed to obtain a state gambling license and pay taxes. Her office is seeking an order enjoining Kalshi’s operations, plus fines, restitution and forfeiture of profits.

I just bought a tray of Red Vines Black Licorice, I'd went to Kalyustan's and gotten walnuts in syrup and Eric went and bought me bourbon (still no ID) so I'm having licorice and a walnut old fashioned and I've never been happier.

yes, and unfailingly predictive of absolute cowardice. If someone waffles on trans rights, they're wrong and gross, but also, you know they're just spineless losers who don't care about anything. nope, bye, next.

trans rights frankly is a top 5, potentially top 3 issue for me despite not being trans and not having any trans family being bigoted against trans folks not only hurts my trans friends and every trans person but is so predictive of further bigotry
