I had a wonderful time in Stuttgart - beautiful #museum, awesome exhibition (it also was really cool seeing the collections, behind the scenes), super nice crowd and great discussions on many exciting studies. thanks so much for the invitation, I really enjoyed it a lot!

🐦 Was uns besonders freut: bereits ein Jahr nach der Realisierung, konnte im Rahmen einer Begehung zahlreiche Vogelarten auf oder rund um die Wohnhausanlage gesichtet werden, u.a. Stieglitz, Dohle, Bachstelze und Hausrotschwanz sowie der stark gefährdete Bluthänfling. (5/6)

This Review discusses population trends of migratory birds, dominant threats in different regions and existing conservation initiatives, then recommends integrative conservation approaches for the future.

It was a pleasure to work with @nathanjaybaker.bsky.social and @swarmofthoughts.bsky.social on this long-term insect time-series. The megadiversity of #DarkTaxa is a serious blind spot for #biodiversity monitoring - by focusing on well-known groups, we neglect the vast majority of species. 🧪🦟🪰

Insect decline usually focuses on species we can name. But "dark taxa" like true flies kept revealing new species over 37-years of sampling a German stream, while well-studied mayflies/stoneflies/caddisflies plateaued with far fewer individuals. doi.org/10.1111/icad... @swarmofthoughts.bsky.social
