Today @thereveal.bsky.social I looked at the seemingly instantly shelved pilot episode for the SOME LIKE IT HOT television series (in which Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis briefly return as their movie characters):

Introduced this one to my kids over the weekend and they both rolled their eyes when I guffawed over my favorite exchange (“Water polo? Isn’t that terribly dangerous?” “I’ll say! I had two ponies drown under me.”) because it's the sort of joke I'd attempt to make. (But, you know, not as good.)

I just reported a ghosting from 11 years ago —a company that flew me to NY and seemed to like me enough to get back to me with a “no” at the very least—because I hold grudges.

I’ve worked in several industries. Ghosting is omnipresent. Post-interview ghosting is esp. abhorrent. All job candidates deserve, at bare minimum, automated rejection notifications. To this day, I can fondly name multi people who respected me enough to relay “we went in another direction” news.
