I bought this during my Battle of Britain 'phase' but never read it! I was flipping through it, trying to find a quote I saw somewhere else, for something else, when I came across this. I'll have something to say about it in due course ... in something I'm working on. Still sorting out my thoughts.

I've had a bit of a craving for melting moments recently. These are actually Italian butter biscuits. Near enough... I'm getting into the book but am annoyed at the frequent use of 'amazing'. Everything was 'amazing'. It is one of my pet peeves.

Round about this time 12 years ago I received my author copies of Australia's Few and the Battle of Britain. I showed one to Miss Millie who said: 'That looks like a good book, Mum'. I always knew she had impeccable taste. (Note: since then I have swapped bob & double chin for pixie cut & wrinkles!)
