A $3 @mta.info subway fare and some good Q train timing can buy you one hell of a view of the July 4th fireworks and the Brooklyn Bridge light show! Huge shoutout to the train operator for slow rolling over the Manhattan Bridge and the conductor for announcing it.

My small rural hometown also put a side walk in about 4 years ago and it absolutely revolutionized the civics of the entire place. Literally all anyone talks about it how much most accessible and enjoyable it made things for everyone. This type of shit rules.

This Danville, VA city council candidate made a very dramatic video about sidewalks and public safety, and I love it and him. Worrying about a possible milkshake duck situation, I looked at his FB page, but he seems ok. Juneteenth celebrations, community outreach, Methodists. A solid old gent.

was having too much fun at the CPC COW yesterday and forgot to share, but look out for a “right-sized” amount of engagement on the 2050 plan, which will be minor policy updates

god i love the bus. loud drunk conversations at 1am about how people are LOYAL to frontier now that spirit is gone, couple 60 year old ladies coming from the blues fest, man delivering a giant arrangement of flowers. it’s got everything. i think everyone should have to ride the bus at least weekly

so i might be in the new season of Hijack because they just turned off the power to the subway line i’m on in Chicago and we’re just sitting randomly in a tunnel

Near North News: ~7 police vehicles (hennepin, MPD, and unmarked) just sped down N 2nd St just outside of North Loop chasing a fast moving car, few others followed a bit later

Elderly yet jacked real estate mogul Bruce Dachis: "I don't take the bus because quite frankly I'm afraid to take the bus." Then what the fuck is all the HGH for, Bruce?

I have 2 extra free tickets to the Aurora home opener tonight! (I can’t read a calendar and thought it was a weekend when I entered a giveaway) Reply if you can use them. I’m going to sleep, but whoever responds first can have them, will DM & transfer in the morning

Building more studios/1-bedroom still brings down costs for larger, “family-sized” housing That said, I also want to advocate for multi bedroom units not just for families, but for us weirdos who just like living with friends even in our 30s in this era of otherwise growing isolation

These yuppies renting 3+ bedroom units look much like their peers in smaller units. To me, it looks a lot like roommates looking for a better deal on rent. Altogether, this data further suggests that building small units would ease pressure on existing family-sized housing.
