Texans who want a different world on 11/4 cannot rely entirely on GOP folks sitting out this one, however unpopular Paxton is. GOP voters are gonna be in that booth, asking themselves if they can disavow their ENTIRE POLITICAL IDENTITY, and probably answer "no, I will vote for this asshole."

For the love of god and all that is holy, just fucking vote if you live in Texas. Even if it feels hopeless. Because holy fucknuts Paxton manages to be even worse than Cornyn AND Cruz. I don't even LIKE Talarico's transphobic ass and I'm pissed I have no choice. But he's still better than Paxton.

Vivek Ramaswamy has not only confirmed the commercial with Amy Acton's estranged mother was made by his campaign, Axios also reports he's now spending $4 million to air it.

THEY ARE NOT POWERLESS TO STOP HIM! Go back to Washington, stand on the steps of the Capitol and demand Johnson and Thune recall the House and Senate, and impeach him. THIS IS HOW IT IS SUPPOSED TO WORK! THERE IS LITERALLY AN INSTRUCTION MANUAL! (It's called the Constitution.)

Republican lawmakers are incensed about Trump's dismissal of Ukraine — and powerless to stop him. That frustration hit a new peak on Monday as they sought to address Trump’s decision to purchase Russian diesel, waive sanctions on Moscow, and potentially stop sharing intelligence with Ukraine.

The ability to for *anyone* with a child to be manipulated, coerced, bribed, or corrupted by these accounts is unlimited. The accounts give wealthy individuals & corporations control over us and our children's financial futures, all without our consent. Brought to you by The Epstein Class.

the best part is when your doctor sends you a bunch of threatening texts about how they'll have to reschedule you if you're late so you always get there early so you can enjoy sitting in the waiting room for 20 or 30 minutes past your appointment time

Today we launch the first episode of my podcast. I interviewed Whitney Mitchell, whose fiancé and caretaker Garrett Foster was murdered at a BLM protest in 2020. Foster's killer was convicted by a jury and given a 25-year sentence. Then Texas Gov. Greg Abbott pardoned him.

Her fiancé and caretaker was murdered by a far-right extremist. Then Texas Gov. Greg Abbott pardoned the killer. My interview with Whitney Mitchell.

For my new podcast, The Watch With Radley Balko, Mitchell and I discuss Abbott, the coming election, and the legacy of Garrett Foster, her late fiancé

Hacking a voting machine (as suggested in the teaser) isn't the problem. That's how you find and fix weaknesses. The problem is that they were told not to tell the vendor (or anyone else) what they found, so the result could be kept on the shelf and used to cast doubt on election outcomes. Yikes.

We need to stop measuring our country's wealth by how much the richest accumulate and start measuring it by the quality of life of those at the bottom. The US is the richest country in the world? Bullshit. What good is all that wealth if working people can't afford to live?

As we said in March, blocking the Internet Archive is like newspapers telling physical libraries they’re no longer allowed to collect past issues. Whatever happens in AI-copyright disputes, publishers shouldn’t make libraries collateral damage.

Blocking the Internet Archive Won’t Stop AI, But It Will Erase the Web’s Historical Record

Imagine a newspaper publisher announcing it will no longer allow libraries to keep copies of its paper. That’s effectively what’s begun happening online in the last few months. The Internet Archive—th...

What if a Big Tech company buys off an entire city council with stock donations to council members' kids to get a data center approved? Or a corporation poisons an entire town and donates stock to the kids sickened or disabled by the poison to avoid getting sued and having to change their practices?
