The pathos is way fucking deeper than a pediatrician was condescending one time. This framing undercuts medical expertise.

And it isn’t because doctors talked down to them. It’s the same reasons anyone gets into conspiracy theories: boredom, aimlessness, arrogance, prejudice

The reason modern medicine works is modern probability theory and practice. Modern medicine is a triumph of applied probability theory. Every treatment is a probabilistic mechanism.
