One of my favorite parts of all of this is Trump is notably obsessed with polling and you literally can't find any good polling for him anymore, even among R pollsters. It's got to be driving him absolutely bonkers.

Elon Musk trying to sink a Christopher Nolan movie was honestly the funniest and dumbest course of action he could have taken. He’s one of the most popular filmmakers alive and now it proves Elon and his fanboys have no real cultural impact outside of X

I think in our grief it’s important to remember that Lindsay Graham lived long enough to see the Iran War he and John McCain dreamed of for decades finally happen, and to see it utterly shit the bed.

The problem is the longer they go without getting the pair back together, the more the fandom is going to demand that OMD be undone as they do not trust any of them to not screw it up again.

The other big thing that will probably limit the damage Donald can do with Slaughter is that they are rapidly running out of true believer MAGA loyalists to replace all the people they fired

it’s not 1200 words, but my hypothesis is that this kind of project is the thing trump really genuinely believes he’s a master at, and it’s gone so publicly and hilariously bad. he’s legitimately personally humiliated by this in a way he normally isn’t and it’s driving him steadily insane

I’d love to read, say, 1200 words from a really good writer on why exactly the reflecting pool thing has turned into the durable embarrassment across media that a lot of other, equally public scandals or screwups could have been in the previous 18 months

Another bubble that's waiting to burst? The right-wing Griftosphere. They've already oversaturated the market and some of them are already hurting like The Daily Wire and they're turning on others like The Quatering.

The thing of it is that was meant to make him and his process look good. So the fact that it comes off as a hit piece either means that was the *best* they could do with what Slott gave them, or he was *so* obnoxious they decided to make him look terrible. Either way the implications aren’t great.

SUPERGIRL is not at all what I was expecting. I, too, assumed “superhero space movie with needle drops” would have a similar tone to Guardians of the Galaxy or even Superman. Instead it looks and plays more like a Mad Max movie, with dirty worlds, gross villains and a self destructive hero
