She/they transgirl, demisexual, globster, water noodle. I am the silly, into planes, strategy and/or milsim type games, random doodles, and just kinda chilling

Game developers, a kind request: I know you want a fancy cutscene to play when your game boots, and that's cool and stuff but PLEASE, let players configure settings before that! Watching cutscenes with blasting volume and the wrong resolution is NOT a good first impression, I assure you.

Hey, devs? I don't know who needs to hear this, but if you're making a single player game? Start/Esc should ALWAYS, and IMMEDIATELY pause the game. I don't gaf how "epic" you think your camera is I just spilled something. My cat just puked. The dog got out. My kid fell. Fuck you, PAUSE THE GAME

I think we’ve kinda reached a point where “you remade the game in unreal” even if done well is not seen as implicitly a good thing particularly if how that game looked was load bearing to the experience.

"the graphics have caught up with our imagination" is intended as a compliment but is inadvertently damning of the whole project. Yeah, the imagination of Halo no longer exceeds a high-resolution tree. Cool.

The original Halo presented an alluring and mysterious setting that combined alien ruins with Pacific Northwest-inspired natural grandeur, but the level of detail back then simply hadn't yet caught up with the imagination. That's resolved here, with a gorgeous visual update that makes the whole campaign pop with excitement.

something about TADC is that it's a "weird show" - but the weirdness is entirely explicable and, most importantly, demonstrate character. Usually Cain's character and personality, which is extremely important, but also other character's too.

This is a form of maladaptive play that has been inculcated by a culture of the extremely punishing, fiddly mechanics of D&D which has basically taught multiple generations of TTRPG guys that if they don't play optimally, they WILL be murdered, and it's gonna take decades to un-learn it

one thing i struggle with when playing tabletop rpgs (particularly one shots) is trying to take decisive action to move the story along and then someone else at the table going, "no no no, wait. let's discuss this" and then there's a short, 3-4 min conversation about how to optimally act
