Far out in the Pacific Ocean, there are tiny islands that few have seen. The oceans around them are full of marine life, from thriving coral reefs to sharks and tuna. The Trump administration is rolling back protections for these places. NPR got a rare visit to a remote area to see what’s at stake.

While this is a HUGE WIN, there's more work to do. It's time to DOUBLE DOWN in pressuring Congress. They need to revoke the OMB Proposal. Members of Congress who fail to stop the Proposal will be out of a job January 3rd, 2027, we will make sure of it. 🧵

I advise folks in my lab to avoid using the word "dramatically" to describe biological changes because you can't quantify drama 🤓 Much of my editing involves changing the phrase "dramatic increase/decrease" to "statistically significant increase/decrease" 🧪
