This was in my first DC scandal, when I was a new college grad. I sat in on one of the hearings. North was so obviously despicable. I thought this scandal might bring Reagan down. I can't tell if I should be saddened or comforted by how wrong I was. (Comforted would be b/c we're still here)

This morning I am remembering when I had the measles in the early 70s. The doctor brought interns & others in to show them what the symptoms looked like because he thought the wouldn't have that opportunity again. Actually, probably some of them didn't. Criminal that we are going backwards.

Proxy statements filed w the SEC must disclose the pay of the median worker. At the following companies half the employees made less than $25K in a year: Ross, Ulta Beauty, Yum Brands, Chipotle, Coca-Cola, Bloomin Brands, McDonalds, Cava, Williams Sonoma. Many part-time, but still just awful.

Cowboy has been at the Cheyenne Animal shelter for over 2 weeks. He is a shy, reserved dog outside of his kennel, but in his kennel, he figures that the best defense is a good offense. He just doesn't have great kennel presence. We figure his wrinkled head will win someone over eventually!

We have a local group that does amazing work supporting immigrants including setting up GoFundMe pages for them. Every story breaks your heart. A friend sent out a reminder today to look up the page & what brought me to tears was the number that have the word "new" in the money raised column.

I find the phrase "unfettered capitalism" very useful. I like to say that my career has focued on trying to help put the fetters back on capitalism. Questions on "are you a socialist" can be answered by citing specific things that are wrong & should be fixed. (Taxation, regulations, etc)
