Formerly debsbasement / buryingsongs Book reader, book seller, book buyer (professional & personal); theatre/film/Josh Ritter enthusiast who would always rather be outside 🌲 Never Again means just that. Not here, not in Palestine, not anywhere.

Seems to me that if establishment dems are frustrated by progressives winning primaries, perhaps they should shift focus from courting wealthy parasites, and blue collar white men who are married to a misogynistic christofacism, and instead work on addressing the issues of progressive voters.

I believe there should be one (1) day during the year that is Adults Only day at the zoo, so I can go in and see the aviary without having to navigate a bunch of screaming toddlers. I don’t hate kids, but man, they chased away every single animal I was trying to quietly observe last year 😕

I don’t read Hank Green’s work, so I don’t really have a horse in this race, but every day I see something that makes me more convinced that I will now only read books published before 2022. Sorry, contrmporary authors I’ve loved; I can’t trust anyone anymore.

One thing about audiobooks is that authorial whoopsies get extra highlighted for me. For example, the phrase “waving his sword menacingly” happened in two consecutive sentences in this silly little queer Roma CE I’m reading, which tells me neither the author nor the editor was working very hard.

Every day I grow more and more convinced that critical thinking has absolutely left the building. The internet has broken everyone’s brain but has given them access to therapyspeak, so we’re in hell.

I got so angry tonight about how every member of Congress seems to think we’re fucking idiots (in re McConnell), that I changed my voter registration to independent and drafted letters to my senators. Then I threw on Green Day’s DOOKIE while doing dinner dishes which helped a bit.
