Went outside to water my native seedlings and it felt post-apocalyptic. Sky to the west orange from smoke. Air unnaturally still and hot. Grass brown and plants wilted. No birds singing. No bees on the flowers. A portent of a future I do not want.
The air in my hometown right now. Ontario has some of the worst air quality in the world due to wildfire smoke. It is unnatural lighting outside at the moment. Stay inside if you can. The air is crunchy and smells like wood smoke. Take care, all.❤️🇨🇦
You know what doesn't cause apocalyptic skylines and wildfires? Solar panels. Can we stop burning fossil fuels and just start massively investing more in renewables and battery tech, please?

Occasional reminder that there’s no, “it’s too late, its over” for anthropogenic climate change. Every molecule of CO2 that doesn’t go into the atmosphere makes a difference. Preventing 0.1 degree of warming makes a difference. Every bit of climate resilience we build together makes a difference.
I don't know if this is an autistic-brain thing, but one of the thing that really freaks me out about the current reality is that I really deeply and fundamentally don't understand why anyone would ever choose cruelty over problem-solving.
