The EU's #CompetitivenessCompass makes a lot of promises to businesses in the EU, but it undermines its social fabric. It states that the "foundation of Europe's competitiveness is its people" but people need more than skills and jobs. They need legislation that prioritises wellbeing & social rights

The Commission's #CompetitivenessCompass, the new growth strategy for Europe, risks undermining the EU’s social agenda. Resilient, fair societies need more than just skills and labour market participation - we need a strong social foundation where #SocialRights are prioritised and protected!

Public procurement should serve people and the planet, not just the lowest price. EPSU joins civil society groups in calling on MEPs to prioritise sustainability, social justice, and transparency in the upcoming reform. Find out more 📝🔗 www.epsu.org/article/civi...

An image displaying the logos of several organizations, arranged in a grid. The organizations represented include EASPD (European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities), Electronics Watch (focused on responsible public procurement and rights of electronics workers), ENSIE (European Network of Social Integration Enterprises), EPSU (European Public Service Union), Fair Trade Advocacy Office, RREUSE (Reuse and Recycling Social Enterprises), Social Platform, Social Services Europe, and Swedwatch. Each logo is distinct, incorporating symbols, text, and various colors.

Very interesting conversation today with Social Platform, one of Europe’s largest networks of social NGOs advocating for policies that promote social inclusion and protect the rights of disadvantaged and marginalised groups. Organisations like this are essential to achieve a just transition for all.
