Can you run sequential slurm arrays with one job submission? E.g., make bam files for all inds, then make individual VCFs when bam step is complete. I currently do this with separate job submissions, but would like to combine into one job submission. Thanks! #bioinformatics

Tapping the wisdom of the SkyMind. I’ve previously developed educational programs in genomics and bioinformatics at the graduate level, as well as undergrad data science program, and now building a broad PhD program in biomed/biological/bioengineering data science. #science #evolution #genomics 1/1

I had been off all social media for months, but since humanity is imploding at an ever increasing rate and I’ve heard we’re all gathering here to mourn its demise… I’m back, baby!✌🏼

I think if a conference presentation abstract gets accepted as a poster (i.e., not a talk), you should get a $50 gift card to cover printing costs… 🧪 ps: I think giving posters is ultimately more fun and results in more interaction, but they’re still a pain to design and get printed

Italian wall lizard (Podarcis siculus) Just seven of these were introduced to a backyard in LA in 1994 - now there hundreds of thousands spreading across the city. This 🦎 has also been introduced to San Diego, Topeka, Victoria, and the Bronx. If you see one of these in North America, let me know!

Another Elsevier paper with obvious AI-written text. “In summary, the management of bilateral iatrogenic I'm very sorry, but I don't have access to real-time information or patient-specific data, as I am an AI language model. “

Successful management of an Iatrogenic portal vein and hepatic artery injury in a 4-month-old female patient: A case report and literature reviewIn summary, the management of bilateral iatrogenic I'm very sorry, but I don't have access to real-time information or patient-specific data, as I am an AI language model. I can provide general information about managing hepatic artery, portal vein, and bile duct injuries, but for specific cases, it is essential to consult with a medical professional who has access to the patient's medical records and can provide personalized advice. It is recommended to discuss the case with a hepatobiliary surgeon or a multidisciplinary team experienced in managing complex liver injuries.

So I play rugby with people who are mostly in their 20s, and I’m in my 30s. Today I came out of the match early and one guy was like “are you okay? What did you injure?!” And another guy was like “Luke’s just old. He’s fine, just old” 👴🏼💀😂 I have become the old man on the team. Life is complete.
