big respect for Wenger dusting off the old "I didn't see the incident" about Infantino's plans www.bbc.co.uk/sport/footba...
Infantino is shameless. FIFA, in theory, don’t tolerate government interference wrt football federations, yet Gianni is supposedly running to MAGA!

Good win. Nobody’s going to get carried away but good to get wins under the belt and keeps any negativity at bay. Now to rewatch highlights of the Bangkok Century Cup
Lacey looks pretty decent. Should be level in truth.
Worth recognising the work @martynziegler.bsky.social did in uncovering Infantino’s plan. If it weren’t for him Infantino may have ushered this plan through.
Even if he does go/ is removed, Infantino has shown the structures of FIFA, his new reformed FIFA, create conditions for casear like presidents to emerge. What shouldn’t happen is a simple horse race to replace him. It won’t happen, but really the entire setup should be broken down and reset first.
The plan is dead. But this should not be the end of this for the FIFA president. His leadership has been so badly exposed that it feels impossible he can carry on with any semblance of authority.
As an aside, you know an idea is nth level toxic if a Kushner thinks it makes them look bad.
Apparently the investors got spooked and bailed on Infantino

After this whole farrago Infantino should step down. He won’t though so he needs to be forced out.

Breaking: Via @martynziegler.bsky.social Incredible. FIFA has reportedly circulated a briefing on expanding the World Cup to 64 teams, with a decision expected by August 14. As FIFA seeks outside investors, it’s fair to ask: who benefits most from creating even more commercial inventory?
Carlos Cordeiro, senior adviser to Gianni Infantino, resigns in protest: 'Let me be clear: I had no involvement in this proposal, and I oppose it unequivocally. It is a bad deal for Fifa's Member Associations, a bad deal for football, and a bad deal for the long-term future of the game'

One of my favourite non-United players. Absolute Rolls Royce of a defender. Rest well Signore Baresi.
