I don't think I've shared it before, but I absolutely adore making diorama cards, and I usually (ok, always; I keep none) gift them. ♡ This one features an 1860s drawing of Karlstejn castle, and I was inspired by vintage Halloween cards, gothic media, & the alchemist's workshop I saw in Prague! 🏰🌹

Square diorama card featuring Czech Republic's Karlstejn Castle in black and white. The foreground of the card features a draped red velvet-texture theatre curtain secured to the top and left side, a potion bottle, a toad, and a flying bat. A 3D effect is created with a middle piece that features hanging stars, a moon, and clouds. Not visible on the picture are two sailing ships and a sea. The dark blue sky behind the castle is decorated with golden stars. A more side-facing shot of the card, where some of the clouds are more visible and the diorama/3D effect is more pronounced.

Those who enjoy both The Rings of Power (season one, specifically) and Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein may be interested to know that both feature the same costume designer: the wonderful Kate Hawley! Hawley also worked on The Hobbit trilogy, which del Toro was originally set to direct.

Galadriel in The Rings of Power season one. She wears her silver armour, which features flowing, organic details and a star on her chest. Elizabeth wearing her ethereal layered wedding gown in Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein. Features a corset bodice, moth-like organza sleeves and bandage silk ribbons around the length of the arms, and a full skirt.Míriel in The Rings of Power season one on her horse. She is wearing a long, stunning cape with golden details and a breast plate/hauberk resembling golden fish scale. Elizabeth from Frankenstein wearing her blue dress and a blue two-feather headpiece that resembles a halo framing her entire face. She holds a large, vibrant blue fan in her hand.

#Tolkientober day 9: fall “Before the rising of the sun Eärendil slew Ancalagon the Black, the mightiest of the dragon-host, and cast him from the sky; and he fell upon the towers of Thangorodrim, and they were broken in his ruin.”

A small watercolor painting of a black dragon fallen backwards onto the peaks of mountains erupting like volcanos, wings outspread and fire spewing from his open mouth towards a tiny ship shining with white light above him

#Tolkientober day 8: rings “…the jewels green that burned in Beren's ring. These Noldor had set as eyes of serpents twined that met beneath a golden crown of flowers, that one upholds and one devours.”
