hey @developer.chrome.com is there any way to disable the baked in navigation transtitions on android? It's the same for native cross-document view-transitions, the transition will play after the swipe, which directly conflicts with the APIs use case.

In this week's episode of The Callback, I talk about: - Why OpenClaw/ClawdBot/MoltBot has ruined hacking - Cursor's science fair project of a browser - @astro.build stops playing the field and settles down Check it out and share it with your AI friends. www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWWK...

A bit of a vulnerable post by me but we need your help to get us through what has been a more difficult period than 2020. It would be really appreciated if you could read and share in your networks too 💛 bell.bz/its-been-a-v...
It’s been a very hard year - Andy Bell
Unlike a lot of places in tech, my company, Set Studio/Piccalilli has no outside funding. Bootstrapped is what the LinkedIn people say, I think. It’s been a hard year this year. A very hard year...

If you aren't seeing skeets from some of your fave people, they might have been labeled "Rude" by bsky mods. Idk what they are thinking, I don't need a mommy to tell me who to be buddies with. Anyway, go into Settings > moderation > bluesky moderation (advanced) and turn Rude off.
If you try to start in episode 3 you're going to be lost with all the romantic storylines and running jokes. You'll thank yourself later.
If you missed last week's episode of The Callback, you missed a certified banger, according to my old coworker. He doesn't lie, so you should really check it out.
It's week 2 of The Callback and I've only managed to make it weirder. Check it out to learn: - The three scariest acronyms in Web Dev - How we're finally going to get people to practice accessibility - How to be maximally bathroom efficient youtu.be/GYUVIe8xCr4
This is the most personal project I’ve made in years. I launched a new show called The Callback. It’s weekly web dev news with my dumb humor sprinkled on top. If this pilot does well I get to make more, so watching, liking, and sharing would be DEEPLY appreciated 💜 www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMOD...
Remix needs to fix this…

More than *anything* the people who actually know how technology works, who actually build things, wish that people would treat LLMs like every other technology, and be normal about them. Don't build a religion about them, don't force them on people, don't ignore the problems. Just be normal.
Spotify cannot release an indicator for AI "artists" soon enough. Shit's been invading my recommendations lately.
Waking up with vertigo makes me question if I started new meds or if the universe is tasking me to become an accessibility tester.
As an experiment, we (the Firefox team) wanted to try a new way to get feedback on which Interop proposals matter most. So, here's a web app where you can rank the proposals you care about, giving us data we can use when reviewing which ones to champion. interop-rank.jakearchibald.com

messenger.abeto.co This is freaking insane. The level of polish necessary for this visual fidelity and it all runs flawlessly on mobile. Hats off.

Oct 14 Firefox 144 will ship JS-powered view transitions with `startViewTransition`. 🎉 Of course, this is only the first step because we're all waiting for cross-document view transitions, too, but I'm still very happy about view transitions being on their way to work everywhere.
„AfD legt zu, Grüne verlieren" Heißt es in den Medien. Die Journalisten fragen Grüne, ob sie jetzt auch mehr Abschiebungen fordern werden. Aber auch richtig ist: „AfD verliert im Vergleich zur BTW, Grüne zweitbestes Ergebnis in NRW“ Framing in den Medien macht den Rechtsruck.
Making the first fun web thing in ages and of course it has to include shaders, async issues, SVG hacks, DOM-to-image rendering and Git LFS just for the extra spice. My "2 days in n out" estimate might have been a little too optimistic.

you do not have to use generative ai "art" in your blogs because there are websites where you can get real, nice images for free
hi, i'm jenn schiffer and this is my lifestyle blog

you get what you give when it comes to the content you put out, why would you do all the hard work to write your beautiful words and then throw them under the generative ai image bus. it's so sad to witness from even just a creative standpoint!
A friend once told me his wife called his inability to choose which of his passions to follow in his free time "hobby anxiety" and it since felt like a diagnosis once I get hit by the weekend. There is too much cool stuff in existence I want to tinker with.
I took a bit of a break but I'm at my desk already to write the next Web Weekly. If Frontend news very close to the platform (you know HTML, CSS & JS) are you thing, you should check it out. 👇 webweekly.email
Here's the keycap color changer we're building in my upcoming Prismic course. I kept the animation simpler for this one, but I think it's still pretty fun to play with. Made with Three.js and @gsap-greensock.bsky.social. 3d model by the wonderful @leifs.website
For the upcoming keyboard course we needed some product images and @leifs.website came through with some serious fire. All modeled and rendered in Blender. We're using these in a bento box component we build in the course. Please tell him how absolutely gorgeous these are.
I have been back and forth over the span of 5 years about whether to publish this article. All opinions and experiences in this post are my own, or from people I personally know, backed up with recent reports and statistics.
Why Women in Tech isn't enough
Women in Tech spaces help, but fall short in the long run. Real progress needs systemic change and active involvement from men in positions of power.

One aspect many people don't consider in the urban vs rural debate, is if it's drunk people yelling stuff keeping them up, or frogs who are vocal about their horniness.
