This bleet is slightly NSFW, but I love learning other cultures' terms for common ✨positions✨. Before cowboys were a pop culture staple, Victorians referred to cowgirl as "riding St. George," and an Arabic term for missionary is "the manner of serpents."

ICE has decided it’s now going to attack the global press, including the Associated Press (AP), because they are reporting the truth. This administration will stop at nothing to prevent the press from telling Americans what’s actually happening.

I want you to understand that they are jumping through all of these hoops to avoid tax bills that are, in many cases, $50 grand. Or $100k. Yes, to normal folks that is all the money in the world. But these people *routinely* spend that on weekend vacations. They would _definitely_ give it at a gala.

"As a joke, comedian and entrepreneur Madi Walser started a website to advertise New York City artists willing to stay in empty vacation homes as 'charity to the 1%.' Then, she received eight inquiries from pied-à-terre owners interested in joining." Wild read 🎁 www.wsj.com/real-estate/...

The Trump administration says it isn’t trying to destroy the U.S. Forest Service. Let’s look at the facts. Over the past year, the U.S. Forest Service has lost nearly 7,000 employees through layoffs, buyouts, and other workforce reductions roughly one-quarter of its workforce.

This opens the door to commercial development on public lands while also raising concerns about habitat impacts, water use, and the enormous energy demands of large-scale data centers. We need a lot more businesses to sue. This administration needs to listen to the courts. Two small businesses sued the Trump administration over its latest round of global tariffs, launching another legal challenge that could redefine the limits of Trump’s authority to wage a global trade war.

And a metal pail of loose metal gubbins (screws, wingnuts, drill bits, unidentifiable bent doodads) that are all 25¢ apiece. There's a hardware store in my hometown which never once had what I went there for, yet somehow I never left emptyhanded. "We have what you want, but not what you need."

All of those stores have at least one box of inventory that has been there since the store opened. Tucked back on a top shelf, the box dappled with foxing and an even layer of dust. It doesn’t even matter what the product is, but I know it will work for at least 20 years.
