With the Author's Guild, it was someone accepting a seat on the board of an "'AI'-free certification" company. NaNo got "AI"-corp cash. With HWA, it's someone who has links to an "'AI'-based writing 'aid'" app. I'd list more, but the pattern is GLARINGLY obvious.
I feel like it's kind of an on-the-nose metaphor to give JOY away via Buy Nothing, because the whole thing brings me joy, but I'll take it! Especially when the person who wants them used to have J-O-Y letters too but they lost the J so they've just been putting up OY. 🤣

(And as a former sulky Anne Rice-reading teen, I advocate for some over-the-top moodiness in the mix with realistic problem fiction and happier tales.)
