microsoft funds genocide, fills their dev pipelines with ai slop and throws all the people who actually make the video games into the street. i cannot imagine, even if you are politically sheltered and just want your treats, ever buying and supporting an xbox game. theres no future here

forgot Tokon was this week and haven't bought it yet, I've been digital on fighters for a while anyway as I don't trade them in and it's more convenient to have them ready to go on the harddrive but boy thinking about it at all I'm already feeling how fewer games I'm going to play when discs go

I've been hootin and hollerin' about the reveal of Baki Kaido in OP17 all day, it's so stupid and ugly and perfect and it might be the one chase thing in the set that tanks in value on release I can't wait

Rick and Morty is one of those shows I chow through every season without any strong feelings on it one way or the other so I don't really have an opinion on when the show ever "fell off" but gotta say with this new season it does kinda feel like they forgot to put the jokes in

I got asked about AI in games again! I think we underestimate how, while AI use is more rampant in the East than the West, our protections against it here are dramatically worse.

From the Gamesradar article: "Necrosoft Games creative director Brandon Sheffield also highlights a cultural divide. "I think we are witnessing an attempted assassination on the very concept of creative work, especially in the West," he says. "While I'm anti AI use everywhere, at least in China and Japan people aren't getting fired with the intention to replace them with AI as that's legally difficult. There it's being used to supplement the work. I've seen Chinese companies express amazement at how Western studios are firing folks in order to have 'fewer devs do more' with AI. Why fire all your good people?" Sheffield says Necrosoft will never use gen AI. "I feel sick about it frankly," he adds, and he would love to see the tech "be treated like a pariah." In his view, "once you let it infect your studio, [it] creatively bankrupts that studio." "We've also seen that companies outside of games have had to hire back their engineers because AI couldn't cut it – or they're finding that all their tokens are getting spent by execs on 'convert this PDF to a powerpoint' which is cheaper to just have an intern do! So it may be slightly faster, and a lot worse, but it's also more expensive? Neat ... We're dismantling the entire industry in the interest of short-term shareholder gains and it's just a terrible plan.""

I keep seeing people saying Mamdani's video was performative and uh...yea? he's a politician? it's part of the job, he's communicating an ideal outside of his power and pointing to who does have the power and he has enough motion that some of the biggest ghouls alive have been forced to respond

the official Doomsday trailer upload advertises watching the movie in "Infinity Vision" for "bigger, brighter, & more immersive screens" and after watching the trailer I guess that just means they're charging you extra to see the movie in colour now
