It is interesting to compare the results of the 1928 presidential election with that of 1932. In the former, Hoover won all but seven of the states. In the latter, he lost all but six. In those days the political polarity of the electoral map was pretty much opposite from what it is today.

From Ballotpedia: Sixty-nine members of Congress — 11 Senators and 58 Representatives — are not running for re-election this year, the most since at least 2000 and 30% more than the 53 who did not run in 2024.

Katie Hobbs is getting it done for Arizona. Over 100,000 new jobs. Medical debt erased for 1 million people. Childcare costs cut. Utility bill help. She's fighting every day to make life more affordable for working families across our state. Re-elect Gov Katie Hobbs! #Pinks #ProudBlue #OneV1

268 of the 273 Republicans who were in Congress a year ago to be exact (98.2%). They’ll do anything/everything Trump tells them to. In many cases out of pure fear. When you vote for a Republican for Congress, you’re giving Trump permission to do whatever he wants. “In fact, Donnie - surprise us!”

MORE THAN 98% of the Republicans in Congress voted last year to: 1) Cut one TRILLION dollars from Medicaid: 2) Give roughly that amount in tax cuts to the richest 1% of Americans. 3) Give ICE a bigger budget than the U.S. Marine Corps. When you vote GOP, you vote to let Trump act like a King.

In the spirit of the World Cup, we have to acknowledge one American champion: Donald J. Trump for world-class grifting. Credit where credit is due: he has demonstrated unparalleled corruption and brought it to new heights.

The Democratic primary in CO-01 (Denver) on Tuesday was revealing. Diana DeGette didn’t lose because she wasn’t progressive enough. She lost because she wasn’t aggressive enough. In 30 years in Congress she’s been very progressive on the issues but hasn’t shown the passion voters are looking for.

It is now 124 days until the midterms (Nov 3). It is also 124 days since Trump, acting in sync with Netanyahu, attacked Iran (Feb 28). I think of this as the crossover point. From now on there will be fewer days till the midterms than from the start of the Iran war.

Today is Canada Day. 🇨🇦 Now, more than ever, many Americans admire Canada. Why? Canada has sane and sober leaders. Canada follows the rule of law without seeking to weasel around it. Canada welcomes immigrants and honors its native people (First Nations).
