Congratulations to Gwennogan Dubois, Marija Smokvarska, and Jessica Perez Sancho, who were honored at the French Academy of Sciences during the “Grandes Avancées Françaises en Biologie” event! 👏 A source of great pride for the lab, alongside their research directors Emmanuelle Bayer & Yvon Jaillais.
[1/n] Our preprint-in-progress on RNA regionalization in Stentor is no longer in progress! Now @pnas.org 🥳 Turns out a single cell isn't a homogenous soup… it has molecular geography, including things like regionalized transcription factors. Think bicoid, but in a ciliate.

Starting to write up the first mechanistic paper from my lab about regulation of endosomal PI(3)P. We see retromer tubules (Vps35) budding from PI(3)P positive sorting endosomes with Actin at the neck. When PI(3)P homeostasis is perturbed this organisation breaks down and cells cant recycle cargo.
