Some good news that the government may allow expired passports for dual nationals to prove they're British, but it's not enough. It's wrong that some British citizens will find it harder and more expensive than non-citizens to enter the UK under the new rules.

Many Canadians living abroad already have their postal ballots, 4 weeks ahead of the election. That efficiency is needed for UK elections. Only 50% of postal ballots from abroad were counted at last year's election. We need better. Good luck @mark-carney.bsky.social and the Liberal Party!

This desperately needs fixing. Imagine having to live under that uncertainty in the last month of being in a country of sanctuary for 3 years. It's entirely unnecessary to have such a restriction, and bureaucracy winning over human decency.
