The Insurrection Act in no way whatsoever suspends, closes, or bypasses the courts. It is not a suspension of habeas corpus. It is not martial law. It does not authorize rule by decree. It allows using troops for law enforcement but that's it. It's not an instant dictatorship switch.

Guys, call me a critic, but I don’t think chanting “this is what democracy looks like” and walking in circles is gonna change a damn thing. We need to bring real financial pain and distress to the oligarchs who subverted our election. We need to do a general strike to shut the whole economy down.
Government should NOT have a registry access to your political and religious beliefs, address, whether you're a firearm owner or not, etc. Apps like the technocrat Palantir are used by government goons to harass and next step arrest and punish civilians. ICE shouldn't exist in the first place. It was created by W Bush along with the Patriot Act. The whole purpose was to violate peoples' civil liberties and create an overreaching surveillance and police state. Immigration regs are an extension of racist policies such as the Chinese Exclusion Act.

It's not totally irrational for the Euros to think they can suck up to him in-person at Davos and that might calm him down, it has before. The problem is even if that works, it only lasts a few days at best. You can't beat the creeps actually in the West Wing at the "last person he talked to" game.

We've said it time and time again, and we're going to continue saying it: Tariffs are a Tax on American families. They devastate small businesses across the country, and they alienate our allies. And they fail at their stated purpose of bringing back manufacturing.
