Took a walk along the racetrack route today. I think I know what's happening. They're putting up the triple barrier racecar-go-smash fencing along the route first. Then they'll shut it all down and pave things. I looked up the Las Vegas timeline and it was 11 weeks. They're trying to do this in 3.

The Museum of the American Indian with fencing in front of it, much like how actual Native Anericans have been fenced off from their own lands. Stacks of fencing waiting to be erectedA double fence closing off the National Archives. An apt metaphor for the current timeline.

So I can't see any actual paving that may or may not have happened over the weekend, but what is definitely new is the fencing along 7th and Constitution Ave. The giant weight tubs under the stands have added a new dimension of dangerously unstable for me.

Much new fence to keep the vroom vroom cars from killing bystanders as they separate into their individual parts. A view of the fence line by the VIP standsThe VIP stands where the parasites will suck on the blood of the workers while waiting to see death and explosions

The paving will commence this weekend! Electronic signs are posted on Constitution and 7th streets, Constitution will be shut down this Saturday (all day?) and 7th during the night on Sunday/Monday. Did not see anything for 3rd or Independance. Also the VIP stands continue to be built.

No parking signs for 3rd st from now until mid September. Big ol' seats for big ol' men with big ol' penises that gonna watch them engines rev.

For at least a year now, the Smithsonian American Art Museum has been buying ad space on the 7th st. bus stop by the National Gallery of Art, which I find to be a hilarious bit of shade. I think the NGA might be pushing back, but this is really a weird take to push for a visit.

A sandwich board by an advertisement for a rival art gallery. The board promises air conditioning and art. Our art gallery is better because we have bathrooms.

If the Washington Monument looks a little dimmer, this is the reason why. If this happened during the storms yesterday, holy shit. But I am excited that I finally got a look at them close up! 1/
