I met with a coworker on 7/23 where one of the things we discussed is he would send me some files so I could coordinate with them to send him back some formatting instructions for others. The next week on 7/28 he sent a message to someone else asking about the formatting instructions. 1/4

Metaphorically occupying a spot in the foyer. In the building, but staying aware of, and close to, the exits. Ask me about the scratchy wall covering.
“Efforts to erase women into submission, abuse (sexual assault, but also sexist, racism, and homophobic treatment), hypocrisy, deceit, and Christian Right politics broke the church in America. These elements drove institutions away from stories of a rebel messiah who cared for the least of us.”
My review for Damned If She Does is up. I tore through this book this morning and am feeling very seen and a bit raw. Exmormon women and anyone else who has left their faith, if you want to feel less gaslit and alone, read this book. It’s what we’ve been waiting for. @sarahstankorb.bsky.social

15. My employer pays me to work for them.
also do NOT make me do a video on the knitting video as a woman who's worked in textiles & clothing production, the blowback to that video was Example A on why I a) love textiles and b) like many people, do not engage with online fiber arts folks online.
Arizona courts can't compel clergy to report abuse according to current law. The law can be rewritten. The church can also choose, as a matter of policy, to report abuse to authorities in all cases. They do in locations where the law compels them to. There's no doctrinal reason they cannot.
(RNS) — Arizona justices unanimously ruled on Thursday (July 30) that trial courts couldn’t interfere in church leaders’ decision to report sexual abuse cases disclosed in confession, according to their own interpretation of religious doctrine.

I saw yesterday that some right-wing outlets were running stories about me, which I’m used to. But this time I’m going to say something about it, because these were framed to imply that I was aligned with their own transphobia. ⬇️
Happened again this year only a few days ago. Still giggle like a 5th grader when I see it.
I still giggle like a 5th grader when I see the figs ripen on my tree. One really ballooned up and started changing colors yesterday. Let's just say if this was on my own body, I'd be rushing to the doctor to get it looked at.
Every time Hank shows up on main I look to the comments and quotes to see if someone mentions the knitting thing and very rarely am I disappointed.
Been side-eyeing this dude since the knitting debacle

It's me, we have like 6 of these that have all been recalled.
So uhh I have multiple pairs of these USB rechargeable hand warmers that just got recalled for fire and burn hazards that killed someone and some of you might too
I think so many arguments on bsky (elsewhere too) could easily be solved like this.
I certainly think that is true. If that’s what you were saying and I failed to realize it, my bad. No hard feelings I hope.
I want trans people to be free and safe and happy and alive I want refugees to be free and safe and happy and alive I want governments that don’t cater to rich assholes instead of the most vulnerable among us I want them to stop using trans people as tools for their weird bigotry I hate it ALL
Happy Friday everyone, as promised, here is my personal theory on this. I think Redwall takes place in our world, after an apocalyptic event of the nuclear variety caused rapid but varied growth of all animals, including humans, leading to our extinction and their mental development. Okay? 🧵
i would love your historical architecture take on the relative size of redwall abbey to its natural surroundings and inhabitants. like are we talking a tiny abbey in a tiny forest or what
Rip Carol Lynn Pearson. Her work has gotten me through some pretty rough patches.
“I have packed the handcart again. Packed it with the precious things And thrown away the rest.” -Carol Lynn Pearson From the poem, Pioneers
Pearson’s book The Ghost of Eternal Polygamy infuriated yet healed something deep inside of me when I was drowning in sorrow after leaving the church and starting to move forward and deconstruct and reclaim my life. I will always be grateful that she was willing to stand up and speak out.
“She once wrote that she was married to the Mormon people, a community she cherished, and tolerated their onerous father, the institution. The Mormon people were truly blessed to have her as a companion, and the institution would have done well to listen to her.” @benjaminepark.bsky.social 🔥 🔥

I agree this is good, but you're not going to get rescued by Harrison Ford in his helicopter with the attitude of knowing your limits and when to turn around to go home.

I'm weirdly happy People decided to publish this article. this lady got very close to the peak and decided to turn back because she wasn't totally confident in her technical ability. That's praiseworthy wisdom, and a good example for others. share.google/d8Xi4aZ8aKkW...

It’s way past the news cycle now I think, but it was only a week ago that what’s-his-face was saying something about cloning himself to harvest blood or organs or whatever. I just realized that’s the plot of “The Island.” ScarJo and Ewan already showed us how that turns out.
Probably a good thing M. Russell Ballard never got the chance to open a Cybertruck dealership.
bloomberg has a fun article today arguing that the Cybertruck is the biggest flop in automotive history. it includes this glorious graph.
