Oh, no! That’s too hard!” Mom said when I told her I wanted to be a journalist. Maybe she wanted to protect me from what she saw as a competitive vocation but that changed the direction of my life because what I heard was “You’re not smart enough.” open.substack.com/pub/lindaksi...
My son (44) had crazy day at work at the hospital. At the end of an 11-hour shift, he heard a phone with a Woody Woodpecker ring tone. He joked to coworkers, “Woody Woodpecker is down the hall,” but the younger guys he works with didn’t get it, and now I’m questioning my entire childhood.
My August chalkboard is lettered and on the porch. Also this will be my goal moving forward.
Did you know 1K bottles of Hellman’s mayonnaise are sold around the world every minute?!
You used to think you were cool. Now you say shit like, “I found this shirt at Costco,” "I'm so relieved they canceled plans,” “My coffee has collagen and 20 grams of protein,” and “This is definitely my favorite magnesium brand.” (From a friend—not my writing)
I love when my daughter shares things like this… Especially with the hashtag “hooked in the first chapter” xoxox
When someone who reads hundreds of books takes the time to write a thoughtful review, it feels pretty amazing. Especially when you consider they don’t need to. I’m grateful to Midwest Book Review for spending time with *Love and Other Incurable Ailments.* #booksky #bookreview
Jeanine Pirro (and anyone else who jumped on the vandalism bandwagon) needs to be excoriated for smearing the reputation of Olympian David Hearn.
The Human on the Other End of the Dog’s Leash: Just a fun little story about my adventures with Cowboy, an outrageously friendly dog, on my blog. lindaksienkiewicz.com/the-human-at... #corgi #corgisky

Here are the social lessons I learn from my corgi, who has never met a stranger and never wonders whether someone wants to talk to him.

I would love to know where or how to write Dr. Fauci a letter of support.
I love the fact that as we age, women no longer have to worry about what they wear so much. My late mother said things like “That woman is too old to have long hair like that,” or “Cher should start dressing her age.” Wear what you want. Love what you wear. Love who you are.
Cowboy enjoying himself at Central Bark day care.
A different kind of love story: She found 30 discarded love letters. She traveled 900 miles to find the stranger who wrote them. She didn’t expect to find herself instead.
AI is not all evil when it comes to writing. I know 2 business owners—one dyslexic, one can’t write for sh*t. Both intelligent. AI is a useful tool for them when they want to share something that makes sense and helps them gain the trust of customers. AI needs regulation. But it’s not all bad.
I've just put an embedded version of the #garmentsewing feed on the public page here: blueskyfeedcreator.com/p/kelsy.co.n... This is useful because IT HAS A SEARCH BOX! So if you're after inspo for a particular type of project or fabric or ... etc! And there are fun, different views available.
People often ask why bad things happen to good people. Bad things happen to all people. But it’s the way good people respond that makes a bad thing less bad.
Knee surgery went well. I feel woozy as hell. I was pleased the staff knew which knee was being repaired (meniscus)
I’m not sure “Liver” is the only thing that needs attention.
A friend asked what childhood game you wish you could still play as an adult. Twister in your 70s might be interesting. We could see who’s first to tear a meniscus or throw their back out.
Thanks to Kristin Bair, an author I greatly admire, for being an early reader and writing this lovely blurb for my novel.
Jeez, we have men crawling all over the place today. Critter Control fixing the outside to keep the bats out. Also, ADT is updating our security system. I'm holed up in my writing studio trying to put on a happy face. All I hear is drilling and banging.
With Grok? Maybe a “historical” porn flick? Why is this a threat? I have so many questions
Tell me a recipe you can make from scratch without needing to look up measurements.
I just noticed how happy my husband’s clothing tree looks today.
