There's lots of stuff LLMs can't do, but if you want to disbelieve all the recent math, you have to believe a bunch of Fields Medalists with long track records are just straightforwardly lying about the thing they care most about. Ceding hermeneutical, heuristic, & all-around epistemic authority to systems which do not care about knowledge or truth or fact is Not Good For Us.

…but they seem to miss that a very large part of learning how to ask the right questions, is asking & playing w/ & sorting through & grinding out the "WRONG" questions, & learning WHY. That happens in training, in play, in conversation with other people who can & will challenge your assumptions…

I just had a convo at the gym with this dude who I do not align with on most topics. The topic today was homosexuality. It came up because he jokingly said he’s not buying the new Madden because Caleb Williams is on the cover with nail polish and he can’t support that.
