Hey I'm not actually done talking about Dolly Parton. 🧵 Specifically I want to talk about her album 9 to 5 and Odd Jobs, released in 1980 (not the soundtrack to the film 9 to 5, that's a different thing). The whole album is about work, with most of the songs focused on a different type of worker.
Remember that if you got the Moderna Covid vaccine, you have Dolly Parton to thank, she gave the largest individual contribution toward their research to make it possible.

This is a good thread and also people have been trying to fix this since at least 2001; see the Guys Read initiative by Jon Sciezka, which includes eight books of short stories written by male authors and geared toward boys. (Guys Write for Guys Read, Guys Read: Funny Business, etc.)
