Livable Cville

We advocate for policies to build an inclusive Charlottesville area with affordable housing, sustainable transportation & healthy neighborhoods welcoming to all https://livablecville.org/

We support fully funding inclusionary zoning in Charlottesville and Albemarle County because it will help produce more income restricted and market rate homes. Left unfunded, we will get fewer of both types of housing and housing costs will rise.

The evidence is by now clear and policymakers/planners are slowly starting to respond to it: unfunded inclusionary zoning programs ultimately hurt housing production and affordability. www.bostonglobe.com/2026/08/13/b...

One reason we believe Virginia in general and Charlottesville/Albemarle in particular should build a lot more housing is that Virginia is the only southern state with a shade of green in this map. We should be a place where LGBTQ+ people are safe AND have access to quality, affordable housing.
