Realizing that most video content from artists that does well sells the aesthetic IDEA of being an artist more than the art itself. The art is incidental

❡ Some Promised Neverland zine drawings I made back in 2021-2022! This series has been near and dear to my heart for the longest time, it genuinely rewired the HECK out of my monster-liking brain when I first read it (ESPECIALLY GOLDY POND) 👹🥀 [ #ThePromisedNeverland #TPN #約束のネバーランド #Art ]

A digital illustration of characters from The Promised Neverland series. This piece was created for the 2021 "The Forbidden Game" Goldy Pond zine. The image is laid out like a paper cutout theater, with dead, gnarled tree branches and stage curtains framing the piece. A banner with the words "WELCOME TO GOLDY POND" hangs from the very top.

Two human girls, Emma & Violet, stand fearful yet determined in the center of the piece. Emma is holding an axe above her head as though ready to swing, an intense look on her face as she glares at the demons below her.

Below them is Luce, a relatively small demon with large, twisted horns and four arms. He is waving around a vicious-looking dagger, claws raised towards the girls with a gleefully wicked expression on his face. He is flanked by a pack of hulking, patchwork demons on either side, heads tilted eerily as they stare at the viewer.

Leuvis, a tall demon in a black cloak and hat, looms menacingly behind the others like a large shadow. He is looking down silently at the other characters, his purple pet monkey-demon-thing, Parvus, hanging playfully from Leuvis' shoulder just above the girls.

A digital illustration of characters from The Promised Neverland series. This piece was created for the 2022 "Let's Change the World" Promised Neverland zine. The image is arranged like a paper cutout, each character layered atop one another.

Several human children (Norman, Ray, Emma, & Carol) gaze at the viewer near the bottom of the piece, bearing serious, yet grim expressions. They appear to be standing atop a large dinner plate resting on a white tablecloth decorated with red flowers.

Above the children loom two of their human caretakers (Isabella & Sister Krone), as well as a group of imposing demons in masks and cloaks. Their clothes are mostly dark, a stark contrast to the bright white of the children's own uniforms. Their caretakers have knowing smiles and almost mocking expressions as they look down upon their children.

A large demon in a heavy black cloak towers beside Isabella, hunched over in a menacing manner. He is delicately carrying a red spider lily in his massive claws right above the children's heads. In the very back are several more demons of various shapes and sizes, each with grotesque, twisting features and horned masks. They all stare down at the humans with wide-eyed, unreadable expressions.

A digital illustration of characters from The Promised Neverland series. This piece was not created for a zine, but was used to apply for one. The image is laid out like a paper cutout with rough textures and layered elements, with dark, twisted trees framing the piece in an almost claustrophobic manner.

Two human children (Emma & Ray) are holding each other's arms for support as they trek over gnarled tree roots. Emma appears excited, whereas Ray looks more cautious. They are wearing large coats and bulky backpacks.

Right behind the children is a grizzled older man (Yugo), donning his own coat and backpack. His expression is both irritated and fearful, his pose startled as he catches sight of two grotesque demons hovering just inches above the humans through the tree branches, the two children seemingly unaware of what is behind them.

The demon's faces are a terrifying array of far too many teeth and eyes, jaws snapping dangerously close to the trio. They are rendered in a much more scribbly, almost chaotic manner compared to the humans.

A digital illustration of characters from The Promised Neverland series. It is a brightly-colored image laid out like a paper cutout, with the border of the image similar to the jagged edges of a mailing stamp. This was intended to be a secret thank-you card for all the contributors of the 2021 "The Forbidden Game" Goldy Pond zine.

A young human girl (Emma) sits on the floor with a lanky demon in a dark cloak (Leuvis). Emma waves to the viewer, an excited expression on her face as she clinks her teacup together with Leuvis' own cup. Leuvis is sitting hunched over in an almost awkward manner next to the tiny human child, expression unreadable beneath his mask and hat.

On Emma's shoulder is Leuvis' pet monkey demon (Parvus). He is eagerly reaching towards a cookie Leuvis is dangling above him, and he has a large ribbon on his tail.

Behind the characters are colorful balloons and a party banner. Below them, the words "Thank You for all your hard work!" are written.

Over the moon about this comic from my brilliant student @lizardshands.bsky.social - "I think of Batman like a coworker from a different department..." An absolutely delightful & thoughtful narrative with a perfect ending! So pleased and blown away!

two pages from a comic about Batman as co-worker. Text reads" I think of Batman like a man on my commute. I don't know him. I don't know where he goes. But I notice when he isn't on the bus in the morning." "I think of Batman like a coworker from a different department. I know his name. And I think he knows mine too... but I can't be sure."

More from this comic, text "Not someone I talk to. Not someone I know personal things about. But when we have a break at the same time I leave my headphones out in case that changes." "I think of Batman like a friend of a friend. Someone I know by proxy. If someone asked Do you know him? I'd pause a moment to think ...No?"

final page from this comic, text reads: "But maybe at some point if our friend leaves the room we will realize that we both like the song that is playing or that we both watch the same show. And maybe for that moment I Do know Batman."
