💗she/her 📚Language enthusiast & lifelong learner 🎓Studying Applied Linguistics & Italian Studies 🏫German teacher

I've had the first Tandem call (Czech-German) in.. I don't even know how long, many months! It feels good to be back, even tho it was a boy uncomfortable because I was very slow.

I used to be pretty bored in my Czech class because I did it before - but with a faster pace. Now I had to skip the last 3 weeks and I'm overwhelmed because I'm behind. It's still stuff I learned before but I'm not really enjoying Czech at the moment :( #langsky

Polish has been on pause for a while now but I went to a Polish store to get my favorite Tymbark drink today (malina mięta!) and I was surrounded by nothing but Polish (other costumers and employees talking, Polish radio, all the signs written in Polish etc.) It's been a fun experience! :) #langsky

The best part about doing an assignment last minute is realizing it could have been fun if I had started earlier. But I've been so overwhelmed and still haven't figured out how to work full-time and finish my master's degree before it finishes me, tho.

The most frustrating thing about teaching languages as a language enthusiast is seeing people in your class who aren't interested in learning (in my case German) at all. I don't take it personally but it's draining. Especially when people don't pay attention and blame me as if I didn't explain it.

I'm looking for a Czech teacher. I'm a beginner and I've been using the textbook krok za krokem. I'd need someone to practice speaking, gladly referring to the textbook but I prefer going through it (mostly) on my own. #langsky

I've just been studying some Czech and I randomly asked myself "But how do you say that in Polish???" (I know it's "umiem", it's just been a while and I couldn't remember) #langsky

Today I started working on my thesis (for now it's more research than actual writing) and I can't wait to randomly find articles which have nothing to do with my actual topic but seem super interesting, so I will go down a rabbit hole ("I would totally write a paper on that") #adhd

So today I got a warning from Tandem, an app which I used to love but is so full of ads it's unusable without the pro version ... I've been barely using it lately and I can guarantee you I didn't do anything wrong...while every second message I get is from a man hitting on me... #langsky

I thought I'd have some freedom after my paper but I got the letter confirming my masters thesis topic today and officially I started writing it yesterday (yes, a day before they notified me). Sure, I got exactly 6 months but I already ""wasted"" 2 days ahahahah

Dear #langsky! I have just published my survey. If you have ever used Duolingo to learn/practice German, you are welcome to participate. Whether you love or hate Duolingo, whether you use it every day or not at all, whether you speak fluent German or only a few words.

Hey #langsky! I am writing a paper on learning apps. Which apps have you been using to learn German? No matter what level, if you commited or just dabbled, if it was good or not etc. There will be a theory part on digital concepts of didactics, then I will have a look on some apps in detail,

Polish has been on pause for quite a while now but yesterday I wrote a postcard to someone from Poland and thought to myself "Well, this is an opportunity" and I wrote it in Polish. It was just a few sentences and nothing too fancy but it still felt great! #langsky #postcrossing
