As mayoral candidates start lining up, I'd like to remind all of them that the only people who can vote for them are the ones who live within city limits. Don't pander to suburbanites who are afraid to go anywhere but the Loop, River North and Wrigley.

And on public safety, no one who is running for Mayor and talking about the city's fiscal house or using not one more dollar rhetoric should have to talk CPD budget. If they treat fiscal health and cost of policing as two separate issues it's ok to not listen to them about the city's finances.

Kicking off my first week of nonvacation retirement with an on-camera interview with a reporter, a CLE, two nights of karaoke and a friend's 60th birthday bash (with a third night of karaoke). Also, sewing and helping my sister move.
