Just another weirdo.

Someday I will make a video essay on how the brilliance of Backrooms is that is speaks to the universal human ache of those moments of profound and unacknowledged trauma that never get memorialized, have no monuments to them, yet still exist in a space and time with a part of us no one ever finds.

we have so much stuff happening this week! tomorrow we'll be taking some things to the Boulder Public Library for a Technology Petting Zoo with elementary school age patrons - we'll also be bringing the MTV Karaoke Machine and a couple typewriters

box full of cassette players, handheld games, and speak N spells

Students made their first minicomics in my intro making course - mostly standard format but this student, a first time maker(!), did something so off the charts I’m still reeling from it! & he made like 12 of them for his classmates! A paper engineering feat of flipbookery as well as killer drawing!

Groups are coming to Gander. (Once we are done testing them). Open and invite-only communities + cozier spaces for your closest people. They'll even be able to share into the main Gander feed. We’re following the ATProto Spaces alpha design, interop groups are the goal.

Mock-up of the Gander Groups interface showing the “Buy Nothing Canmore” public group. The page lists 3.2K members and 43.7K posts, with a description inviting Canmore neighbours to give away and find free items. Below, a group post offers a solid wood coffee table for free pickup.

Been broke for so long and it feels so good to be able to splurge again on a knowledge haul for my little resource library. I have more works I want (I no longer live near an academic/research library) but these were long-overdue additions for me:
