It has not materialised and nor has the considered market framework needed to create a sustainable aviation fuel hub there. More evidence that Scotland’s just transition to renewable energy is just not a priority for the UK comes with the attack on ScotWind, Scotland's offshore wind programme. The UK is deliberately damaging its potential for success. Onlookers have to ask if this is because the prospect of Scotland capturing more of the value chain of its own resources would threaten the extractive model of the British state and London’s political power over Scotland?
